Review: Dogit Slow Feeder Dog Bowl
Does your furry friend devour their meals in a flash? If so, you might want to consider a Dogit slow feeder bowl.
These bowls are designed with ridges or mazes that make it more challenging for dogs to access their food, encouraging them to eat slower and preventing them from gulping down their kibble. In this blog post, I’ll be reviewing the Dogit Go Slow Anti-Gulping Dog Dish in medium size and blue color.
Dogit Dog Bowl Slow Feeder for Wet or Dry Dog Food, Go Slow Anti-Gulping Dog Dish, Blue, M
Features:
- Molded ridges inside the bowl slow down your dog’s eating pace
- Non-slip rubber base helps prevent the bowl from skidding and sliding
- Dishwasher safe for easy cleaning
- Available in multiple sizes and colors
- Holds up to 5 cups of dry food
Pros:
- Can help to slow down your dog’s eating pace, which can improve digestion and prevent bloat, choking, and vomiting
- Made from durable, BPA-free plastic
- Easy to clean
- Non-slip base helps prevent spills and messes
- Relatively affordable
Cons:
- May not be effective for all dogs, especially determined chewers or large dogs who can easily nudge the bowl around
- The molded ridges may not be as challenging as some other slow feeder designs
- Some users report that the blue color can stain easily
My Experience:
I’ve been using the Dogit Go Slow Anti-Gulping Dog Dish with my Beagle for a few months now, and I’ve had mixed results. On the positive side, I have noticed that he does take longer to finish his meals compared to a regular bowl. This has helped with occasional digestion issues he used to experience. The bowl is also very easy to clean and the non-slip base is a big plus, as it keeps the bowl from sliding around on the floor.
However, I do find that the molded ridges in this bowl are not as effective as some other slow feeder designs I’ve tried. My Beagle is able to navigate them fairly quickly, and I don’t see a significant difference in his eating speed compared to a regular bowl. Additionally, the blue color does seem to stain easily, even with handwashing.
Additional Things to Consider:
- The size of your dog: The medium size is suitable for dogs that weigh up to 40 pounds. Dogit also offers larger and smaller sizes.
- The type of food you feed your dog: This bowl should work well with both dry and wet food.
- Your dog’s personality: If your dog is a very determined chewer, you may want to choose a slow feeder bowl made from a more durable material.
Overall, the Dogit Go Slow Anti-Gulping Dog Dish is a decent option for dog owners who are looking for an affordable and easy-to-clean slow feeder bowl. However, it may not be the most effective option for all dogs, especially those who are persistent chewers or large dogs who can easily move the bowl around.
